The Anatomy of Posture

Poor posture contributes to a large number of injuries, and is a significant contributor to many of the common causes of pain. Posterior Muscles:
These muscles often become lengthened and weak due to slumped posture.
It is important to strengthen these muscles to counteract the amount of time we spend sitting in a forward posture.
Anterior Muscles:
These muscles often become overactive and tight further exacerbating poor posture.
It is important to stretch these muscles to allow your body to achieve correct posture.
